Platform terms

What EatRate is

EatRate is a multi-sided marketplace and coordination platform connecting consumers, restaurants, independent chefs, farms, suppliers and delivery companies for food discovery, ordering, reviews and fulfilment.

Accounts and roles

Each account operates under one or more roles (consumer, restaurant, chef, farm, supplier, logistics company, Food Explorer, etc.). Restaurants, farms, suppliers, chefs and delivery operators remain responsible for the accuracy, safety and lawful operation of the offerings, menus, products and services they publish.

Orders and payments

Orders are priced and confirmed with a full breakdown of item subtotal, applicable service fee, delivery fee, taxes and any small-order or cancellation fee, all calculated server-side and shown before checkout. Payments and partner payouts are denominated and settled in Central African CFA francs (XAF). Confirmed orders retain the fee breakdown that applied at the time of confirmation even if pricing rules change later.

Fees and monetization

EatRate does not charge consumers merely for posting, reviewing, following or browsing. Restaurants may be subject to a disclosed order commission and optional subscription plans; farms and suppliers may use a free basic listing or an optional subscription/transaction fee on completed procurement; logistics companies are charged a dispatch fee only on completed deliveries, not on cancelled or failed jobs unless an accepted cancellation policy applies. Sponsored placements are always labelled "Sponsored".

Reviews and provenance claims

Reviews should reflect genuine experiences and, where available, are linked to a verified order. Food-provenance information (farm, batch, production cycle) reflects data supplied by the producing farm or supplier; EatRate provides the traceability tooling but does not independently inspect every batch.

Prohibited conduct

Fraudulent or incentivized reviews, impersonation, harassment, coordinated rating manipulation, and circumventing fee or payment mechanisms are prohibited and may result in content removal, fee adjustment or account action.
